Sago is a starch or spongy core tissue, of various tropical palm stems. Also, it is a major staple food. The Tamil people call it – JAVARASI. This article discusses one of the well-known dishes that one can prepare using sago, the sabudana kichadi.

This kichadi can be popular, but people rarely prepare this at home.

SABUDANA: 

Sabudana is good for gaining weight. It is high in carbs, yet low in fat, making it a healthier choice for weight gain.

It helps you to avoid the adverse effects related to eating too much fat.

INGREDIENTS:

  • sago
  • potato
  • peanut
  • salt
  • chili
  • pepper
  • coriander
  • ghee
  • curd
  • oil
  • curry leaves
  • cumin seeds
  • lemon

  2. Secondly, this dish is gluten-free
  3. Thirdly, it improves digestion
  4. Fourthly, people who are too much lean can eat – this dish helps you in gaining weight
  5. Fifthly, the peanuts are high in good calories.
  6. Sixthly, this reduces blood pressure
  7. Seventhly, this promotes stronger bones

  • This dish helps in weight gain, and so, one cannot eat this every-single day.
  • Also, days when you eat sabudana, one and a half cup is highly good to intake.

  • Lastly, fatty fish

PREPARATION:

  • Firstly, Soak the sago seeds and cook.
  • Secondly, these should be transparent, after you completely cook them
  • Thirdly, boil 4-5 potatoes and mash
  • Also, Roast the peanuts and crush into powder
  • Fourthly, into a medium flame, pour oil and ghee
  • Fifthly, Add up all the spices and mix well
  • Also, add turmeric powder, mustard and salt.
  • Sixthly, add the sago and mix well.
  • Seventhly, Leave it for 20 mins
  • Also, Curd is optional.
  • Take hot and serve
  • Chutney can be a very good side dish.
